How we handle personal information for teachers, schools, students, and parents.
Last updated: July 1, 2026
1. Introduction
Adaptr.ia (“Adaptr”, “we”, “us”) provides a platform that helps teachers turn teaching documents into competency maps, track student progress, and communicate with parents — with the teacher in control at every step.
This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices available to teachers, schools, and other users of our service.
2. Information we collect
We collect information in the following categories:
- Account information: name, email address, authentication identifiers, and institution affiliation when applicable.
- Class and roster data: class names, student display names or identifiers, join codes, and roster imports you upload.
- Teaching content: documents, notes, concept graphs, validations, and diagnostic materials you create or upload.
- Usage data: log data, device and browser type, IP address, pages visited, and feature interactions needed to operate and secure the service.
- Billing information: subscription status and payment metadata processed by our payment provider (we do not store full card numbers).
3. How we use information
We use collected information to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the Adaptr.ia platform.
- Authenticate users and enforce access controls.
- Process documents and generate AI-assisted draft concept graphs for teacher review.
- Support diagnostics, progress tracking, simulations, and reports you choose to generate.
- Send service-related communications (for example, account or security notices).
- Process subscriptions and comply with legal obligations.
4. Teacher control and AI processing
AI proposes. The teacher decides. We design Adaptr.ia so that learning paths, student-facing content, evaluations, and parent communications are not activated, sent, or made visible without your explicit approval.
When you upload content, selected materials may be sent to AI service providers to generate draft outputs. Those outputs are shown to you for review and editing before any student or parent access.
5. Student and parent data
Teachers and authorized school staff are responsible for determining what student information is entered into Adaptr.ia and for obtaining any required consents from students, parents, or guardians under applicable law.
Student progress, diagnostic responses, and parent reports remain under teacher control. Reports and messages are drafted for your review and are not automatically delivered to parents unless you explicitly approve sending.
7. Data retention
We retain information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.
You may request deletion of your account and associated data, subject to legal retention requirements and legitimate business needs such as backup recovery windows.
8. Security
We implement administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information against unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing.
To exercise these rights, contact us at legal@adaptrai.app. We may need to verify your identity before responding.
10. Children
Adaptr.ia is intended for use by teachers and authorized school personnel. Student accounts, where offered, are created and managed under teacher or school direction. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children for marketing purposes.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised version on this page and update the “Last updated” date. Material changes may also be communicated by email or in-product notice where appropriate.
